Men and Cats

A year ago, my husband consented to allowing me to bring home two shelter kittens. I say "consented" because for years he lived with my two geriatric cats and it was not always a happy relationship. Let's just say he's a dog man.

However, I told him that kittens are MUCH different than old, grouchy, adult cats. He soon learned that I was right. This means I caught him snuggling and playing with the two little ones when he thought I wasn't looking. Today the kitties are 16 months old and I feel it's safe to say that my husband definitely enjoys them. (I won't go so far as to say he loves them, but he sure does pet them a lot.)

The men of Bond

Syfy showed a Bond marathon after Thanksgiving.  I couldn’t resist watching as many as I could and it got me thinking of all the different men who played Bond. *sigh*

Sean Connery – orginal *7 films*

George Lazenby ("On Her Majesty's Secret Service") *1 film*

Roger Moore *7 films (got too old)*

Timothy Dalton *2 films*

Pierce Brosnan *4 films*

Daniel Craig  (1^st blond) *2 films so far*

Pierce is my fav(All suave and just plan hot!), while Daniel runs a very close second because of his darker, more edgy persona. Though I’ve never read any of the books, I gather it’s the way the original Bond books were.

Seasons change, but beauty remains

With autumn around the corner, I find myself pondering the change of seasons and the passage of time. Before you think I'm getting all deep and meaningful, my thoughts are centered around men -- specifically, hot men. Some look best in their baby-faced younger years. Others hit their prime around middle age. And of course, we have silver foxes as testament to the beauty of winter.

I suppose that's one reason I like writing May/December relationships between two sexy men. Whether it's 11 years difference between Derek and Blue of Blue Ruin, or 24 years between Tony and Josh in my upcoming novel Sonoran Heat, my readers and I get to enjoy both ends of the spectrum with all varieties in between!

A few rare men manage to look good at any given age. In some cases, they only get better with a dash of seasoning. In my opinion, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr, Viggo Mortensen, David Bowie, Mark Harmon, and Sean Connery are shining examples of men who've aged like fine wine.

How do you like your men?

For the first time in a while I've had a little extra money and wanted to buy a book or two. Real life has really had me swamped the summer and I was really in the mood for a good M/M book to relax with. My poor e-reader has been sitting too long and wants to be used again. I went to my usual haunts as well as looking through my 'wish lists' in my favorites or suppliers. Even looked through some review groups.

That's when I realized there so much to choose from and it all revolves around how you like your guy.  Do you like your heros vamp or were (or both)? Maybe some space traveler or dragon slayer/or layer if the dragon is a shifter. ;) They can be erotic or maybe just romantic. Oh, let's not forget the cops or firemen. *drool* Then there's the delicious cowboys...probably some Indians if I look hard enough. There's even some historical scoundrals and hot hunky pirates calling. And last but not least, just yummy men of today (contemporary).

So many choices. How does one choose? I still haven't because I like them all - LOL Hopefully I'll make a decision before the weekend because I'll be out of town next week.
