Thursday 13

Well, I thought I'd try Thursday 13 here. I'm going to list 13 m/m stories I've read and enjoyed. This is certainly not an exhaustive list—there's a lot of good gay romances out there.

1. Jumping the Fence Stephanie Vaughn
2. Willow Bend Ally Blue
3. Without Reservations JL Langley
4. Hot Sauce Scott Pomfret and Scott Whittier
5. Hot Target Suzanne Brockmann (okay, m/m relationship is secondary and not, at least in this book, HEA)
6. Swordspoint Ellen Kushner (marketed as fantasy)
7. Cagebird Karin Lowachee (okay, really more science fiction than romance and very gritty)
8. Easy Ally Blue
9. With Love JL Langley
10. Crossing the Line Stephanie Vaughn
11. A Year and a Day Willa Okati
12. Blood Brothers Anne Cain and Barbara Sheridan
13. The Letter Willa Okati

I've been crazy busy or I would be reading more. Next up are Out for Christmas by Amelia Elias and Fatal Shadows by Josh Lanyon. But I'd love some more recs. What have you read lately and loved?

Nice list, Joely. I've read all of those except 5, 6, & 7. I only recently discovered Scott & Scott and I have to say I love their books. The first one I read was Razor Burn. After that, I was hooked and had to go out and buy all the rest. All their books have an almost "sweet romance" quailty to them that I find endearing. *g*

Yes, I thought Hot Sauce was sweet, too. I haven't gone out to read the rest of their stuff. Yet.

I haven't read it recently, but I did just get a lovely new reprint copy of it. Richard Amory's "Song of the Loon" is one of my favorite gay romances. It's a classic, written in the 60's. I was so excited to discover it had been reprinted when I went to the bookstore the other day. It's a great story about Indians and trappers, granted it's not very realistic, but the story is still really good.

Cool, VIcki. I hadn't heard of that one. I love the setting.

There's actually a series, but the other two haven't been reprinted yet. There's a publisher that is reprinting some of the classics that have gone out of print.

Also among my favorites, if you like beach type reads, are the books by Timothy James Beck, really funny and sweet type romances. And one called Boyfriend Material, but I can't remember the author of that one. None of them are very explicit, but they are good stories.
